# API

`@gallerykit/skin-overlay` is a **side-effect import** — it does not export any runtime values. Importing the package once registers its asset (skin or theme) with the matching GalleryKit registry:

```ts
import "@gallerykit/skin-overlay";
```

After the import, the asset is available by name through the corresponding GalleryKit config option (`skin` or `theme`). See the [JSDoc reference](./jsdoc) for any internal type signatures.
